Welcome! At Oregon Nature Works, our goal is to create comfortable, earth-friendly clothing using natural dyes and organic cotton fabric. The one-of-a-kind pattern-dyeing technique that we use is a form of Shibori, a traditional Japanese bound-resist process used to pattern fabric. We make our own natural dyes from minerals and renewable plant resources, many of which are gathered locally. Indigo, which is one of the natural dyes that we use, has been used historically for over 5,000 years. Following sound environmental practices from natural resource harvesting to dyeing, our natural-dyed clothing is healthier for the environment, the dyer, and the person wearing it. |
